Small mixed garlic is a combination of all or some of the types of garlic I grow. It could be called table garlic. It’s excellent for average-sized families who don’t want to break open a large bulb of garlic when just a few smaller cloves are needed. As with all my hardneck garlic, they store well into the winter. Excellent for eating and planting, though they will produce smaller bulbs.
Spring garlic is harvested in the spring instead of the fall. It’s flavorful is fresh, mild & sweet which is different from the pungent cloves that are called for in most recipes. It’s very versatile so you can use it as garlic in a recipe or swap it out for leeks, scallions or spring onions. Spring garlic can be enjoyed raw or cooked. They require no peeling the whole plant is edible. The green top and bulb are a real treat. These are usually not available in stores.
